Commercial & Markets Manager
A need has been identified for a new position in the organisation for a Commercial & Markets Manager with particular focus on the gas and oil sectors. This role will be based in the London office. We are looking for an industry professional with a strong commercial background in the gas and oil sector and an in-depth understanding of contracts and operations relating to the shipment of gas and oil cargoes.

Using this knowledge you will be responsible for working with the association's ship owner members, associates and other stakeholders, identifying and addressing documentary and commercial issues and the contractual and financial implications of changing regulations and policies. You would be involved in the work of various committees focusing on gas tanker operations, documentary issues, Worldscale and markets to name just a few, aiming to identify ways INTERTANKO can serve and assist its members.

Your remit would also include compiling information on and liaising with members, charterers, traders, ship builders etc. to identify opportunities for improvements in the way business is done, cost savings and the development of best practice. You will interact with members offering support and information as well as answering specific questions. This role will be working alongside the existing technical roles within INTERTANKO to expand the secretariat's knowledge base and allow the organisation to refine its services to the membership. Some international travel to engage with members and other stakeholders will be required. You are likely to be working for a shipowner as commercial operator or charterer. Commercial gas shipping experience is essential.

Chemical Manager - London
INTERTANKO is currently looking for a Chemical Manager to join the team based in the London office.

Reporting to the Marine Director you will be responsible for providing support to members on regulations and policy relating to the safe and compliant operation of chemical tanker vessels.  You will be Secretary for INTERTANKO's  Chemical Tanker committee and will represent the organisation at the IMO, with CDI and other industry bodies. The nature of this role means you will work in collaboration with other organisations and associations and will provide weekly bulletins / newsletters with the latest updates for your market area.  Planned international travel will be required fairly frequently for committee attendance and Member visits within your area of expertise.  

To apply for this position you should have sailed on chemical tanker vessels and achieved the rank of at least Chief Officer.  Since coming ashore you may have worked as an inspector, be an ex-coastguard or Superintendent.  Practical experience of the management of chemicals and the application of the IBC code is essential.  Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work in an international environment are essential.
