INTERTANKO warns Members of issues over payment of St Eustatius National Parks fee

We have been advised by a Member that the Harbour Authority in St Eustatius (Dutch Caribbean) is invoicing a National Parks Fee based on a vessel’s GT (currently USD 0.01 per GT) retroactive to 1 November 2016. Local agents have been asked to begin collecting the fee from owners with a warning that a vessel may be delayed/detained if a fee is unpaid. This charge has yet to be officially publish...... Fraud Alert: Member reports of falling foul of fraudsters on port expenses

An INTERTANKO Member has been in touch to relay details of an incident where they paid funds into a bank account owned by fraudsters. An email correspondence between the Member and their agent in Klaipeda was hacked and port expenses were credited to the wrong bank account after the Member was duped by a false invoice.
