TMSA (Tanker Management and Self-Assessment)
The INTERTANKO TMSA database is an initiative of the Vetting Committee.
The TMSA 3 calculator is aimed at providing Members with a useful tool for benchmarking themselves against the collective of other INTERTANKO Members in a confidential manner.
- Please note that this is a tool to compare your TMSA 3 element ratings with others.
- You can only enter whole figures, 1,2,3 or 4.
- Ratings for all the elements should be entered.
- Each level has to be completed before entering on to a higher one
- Click on 'Save' at the bottom of the table to submit the data
INTERTANKO has ensured the benchmarking database remains current and was updated in a timely manner when TMSA 3 was launched by OCIMF (TMSA 2 is no longer active).
INTERTANKO supports the initiative of the Tanker Management and Self-Assessment (TMSA) programme, which both enhances and promotes quality within the shipping industry. INTERTANKO believes that the TMSA system reflects a level of recognition of the existing high quality standards that currently exist within the tanker sector and indicates an encouraging level of trust towards the quality tanker owner. We further believe that the system of self assessment can be relied upon to be successful and assist in the reduction of multiple inspections.
TMSA offers a standard framework for assessment of a ship operator's management systems.
The programme provides ship operators with guidelines that describe the essential elements of a formal management system. The guidelines also offer examples of key performance indicators (KPI). The TMSA programme is intended to help ship operators to improve their management systems and to help the industry to take well-informed vetting decisions.
INTERTANKO encourages all Members to enter their ratings as this may be important to be able to influence the development of the TMSA.
To use the TMSA 3 calculator, it is assumed that you have access to the OCIMF TMSA guidelines.
