LTI (Lost Time Indicator)
Introduction
INTERTANKO, through its Vetting Committee, established and set up the Lost Time Indicator (LTI) Benchmarking System in order to provide Members with a tool for benchmarking their Lost Time Injury Frequency (LTIF) and Total Recordable Case Frequency (TRCF) against those of other INTERTANKO Members.
The LTI Benchmarking system enables Members to compare their LTIF as well as their TRCF, both of which have been described by the Oil Companies’ International Marine Forum (OCIMF) in its Marine Injury Reporting Guidelines.
Once a Member enters its data, the LTIF and TRCF are calculated, sorted from low to high and two bar graphs are generated. The averages of the pool are depicted by a grey shaded bar, with the Member’s entry overlaying the average - identified by a blue bar.
This way of displaying the results enables Members not only to know whether they are below or above average (blue bar), but also to know their position vis-à-vis other members in the pool (i.e. their ranking).
