TMSA (Tanker Management and Self-Assessment)
Introduction
Tanker Management Self-Assessment (TMSA) is a tool developed by the Oil Companies to help owners/ operators declare an assessment of their own performance in key areas of ship operation and management.
This programme, now in its third edition, encourages companies to assess their safety management systems (SMS) against key performance indicators (KPIs) with best practice guidance that increase in levels of performance.
The INTERTANKO benchmarking database for TMSA allows Members to measure the assessments of their performance against that of the INTERTANKO fleet. This will help Members to assess, measure and improve their management systems and performance.
INTERTANKO Members with access to the tool will be able to benchmark their overall TMSA level as well as benchmark their level attained for each element of the TMSA against the INTERTANKO average pool.
